Day 1
Arrivals and Welcome to Ulaanbaatar
Arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport where our team will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, guests may visit a local fishing equipment store if needed. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 2
Flight to Murun, Drive to Uur River (220km)
Take a domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar to Murun, the center of Khuvsgul Province. Upon arrival, meet your English-speaking guide, driver, and expedition cook before embarking on a scenic drive to the Uur River.
Lunch will be enjoyed along the way with views of Lake Khuvsgul, Mongolia’s largest freshwater lake. Continue to a campsite near Tsagaan-Uur soum, where you will meet your local fishing guide and discuss the fishing plan for the coming days.

Day 3-7
Fishing in Uur River
Spend the next five days fishing in the legendary Uur River. Located in Tsagaan-Uur, the river has a water basin of 12,300 square kilometers, a width ranging from 35 to 110 meters, and a depth of 0.5 to 3 meters, making it rich in Taimen, Mongolia’s iconic freshwater fish.
During these days, transportation will be provided by car and boat where needed, allowing you to reach the best fishing spots. Each evening, return to your riverside campsite to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 8
Drive back to Murun (220km)
After an exciting fishing experience, we will drive back to Murun city, enjoying the scenic view alongside the way. Once we arrive, we’ll check into a local hotel for an overnight stay. The evening is yours to explore the city or simply rest before continuing our journey the next day.

Day 9
Drive to Khyargas Lake (550km)
A full-day drive to Khyargas Lake, a beautiful and remote destination perfect for fishing and relaxing in nature. This drive to Khyargas Lake offers an opportunity to experience one of Mongolia's most picturesque and tranquil destinations. Situated in the Great Lake Depression area of western Mongolia, Khyargas Lake is the third-largest lake in the country, covering nearly 1,500 square kilometers with an average depth of 50 meters.

Day 10
Fishing for Osman at Khyargas Lake
Spend the day fishing for the Osman, a unique and prized catch in Mongolia’s freshwater lakes. This species, endemic to Mongolia and parts of Russia, is highly prized among anglers for its challenging catch and culinary value.
The Altai osman can grow up to 100 cm in length, though most individuals are typically around 75 cm. It can reach a maximum weight of about 10 kg and is known to be a long-lived species, with some individuals living up to 40 years. Its strength and adaptability to cold, clear mountain waters make it one of the most interesting fish species for anglers exploring Mongolia’s remote rivers and lakes.

Day 11
Drive to Ulgii city (500km)
After our time at Khyargas Lake, we will drive to Ulgii, the center of Bayan-Ulgii province, home to Mongolia's largest ethnic minority, the Kazakhs, who have their own cultural heritage and unique traditions. Upon arrival, we will check into a local hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 12
Drive to Khoton and Khurgan Lakes (180km)
A scenic drive through the Altai Mountains leads us to the picturesque Khoton and Khurgan lakes, where we will set up camp amidst the beautiful natural surroundings. These two freshwater lakes are connected by a wide channel and are among the most beautiful places in Bayan-Ulgii province. The landscape around the lakes features forests and snow-capped mountains, with glacial rivers flowing down from the mountains to fill the lakes. Khoton and Khurgan Lakes are home to grayling and some other species.

Day 13-14
Fishing for Grayling
We will dedicate this day to fishing for Grayling in the pristine waters of Khoton and Khurgan Lakes, renowned for their crystal-clear depths and surrounded by the majestic Altai Mountains. The mornings and evenings offer the perfect opportunity for a stroll along the lake shore.

Day 15
Drive back to Ulgii (180km)
This day we begin our drive back to Ulgii, traveling through the wide valleys and mountain landscapes of western Mongolia. Along the way, we will stop to visit a local Kazakh nomadic family, where you will experience their traditional way of life. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to meet an eagle hunter and see his trained golden eagle up close, learning about the centuries-old tradition of eagle hunting that remains an important part of Kazakh culture in the region. You will also gain insight into the family’s daily activities, hospitality, and unique nomadic lifestyle.
After arriving in Ulgii, we will check into a local hotel. You will have some free time to explore the town, visit local shops, or take a walk through the streets. In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner and reflect on the highlights of our journey.

Return Flight to Ulaanbaatar.
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar, marking the end of an unforgettable Mongolian fishing expedition.
